Matthew Fitch is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, and musician based in Texas. He earned his BA in Mass Communications with a specialization in Film Production from Sam Houston State University. Since then, he has worked in narrative and commercial film in Texas, California, and Europe.
His latest short film, Giraffing me Crazy, has won multiple awards, including Best Comedy at Texas Short Film Festival, Best Texas Film at Houston Comedy Film Festival, Best Short Comedy at Phoenix Shorts Festival, and Best Comedy at Austin Under the Stars Film Festival.

Matthew’s interests include literature, music, travel, and art.
He played lead guitar for Austin band Thee Unemployed from 2021-2023. The band played at SXSW in 2022 and opened for MadeinTYO at Empire Control Room.
Matthew is an ardent reader, whose favorite authors are Marcel Proust, Roberto Bolaño, and Cormac McCarthy.
After wrapping production on his latest film, Mad Stork, Matthew spent four months traveling throughout Europe. In Madrid, he was able to visit the Prado, where he came face to face with works by his favorite painters, Goya and Velázquez.
